From Betty Frank JUHAN Coy, USMC, retired, in a letter to Mr Richard J DuBourdieu of Illinois, dated 10 March 1969: "Evremond and Catharine emigrated from France to Canterbury, County of Kent, England from Grenoble, Province of Dauphine, France. His paternal ancestors were Pierre DuBourdeaux and Marie DuBois and Francis Purcell DuBourdeaux of Grenoble, Province of Dauphine, France. " Betty is an 11th generation descendant of Evremond DeBourdeaux. She began researching her family lines about 1948 and by 1969 was hoping to have her work on the DeBourdeaux/Juhan line published. Whether that was ever done is unknown. Sometime before 1969 Mr. Richard J DuBourdieu privately published a book his late father (Dr. William DuBourdieu) had written on the DuBourdieu line. It was titled "BABY ON HER BACK: A HISTORY OF THE HUGUENOT FAMILY DuBOURDIEU." Page 255 of that book contains references to the Bordeaux line.
