The 1860 census shows Daniel farming in Albion, IL with $3,000 in real estate and $1,000 in personal property. Daniel and Rachel had four children: Mahala, Enoch, John, and James.  The 1870 census shows Daniel farming in Shelby Precinct with $6,000 in real estate and $700 in personal property. Daniel and Martha had three children. Daniel and Ranchel. Daniel and Martha had ten children. Daniel was a farmer and owned alot of land west of West Village Church. When his children married, he gave each one 80 acres to start farming and build a home on. Most of the land is still in the family to this day.
