The William M. Schneider Family Home Page

I am researching the family of William M. Schneider who was born in 1838 in Switzerland. He came to this country in 1850 when he was twelve years old. He married Christienne Caroline Hampil sometime before 1874. Christienne was born in Germany. William and Christienne both migrated to Texas with their families where they later married and had at least six children. Sometime after 1898 William married Christienne's sister, Louise Pauline Hampil. I believe William and his wives lived and died in Hope, Lavaca County, Texas.
William Schneider was the first child of William M. and Christienne. He was born January 1874 in Lavaca County, Texas and died February 4, 1905 near Hope, Lavaca County , Texas where he was buried in a country cemetery. He married Lemmie Arulia Garrett who was the daughter of James Byce Garrett and Arulia V. C. McNeill. Lemmie was born September 18, 1869 in Montgomery, Alabama. She died in 1941 in Yoakum, Texas. William and Lemmie had five children. Their fifth child was a daughter, Willie who was born February 19, 1905 in Hope, Lavaca County, Texas. Willie married William Pearce Garrett and they had three children. I am the third child of Willie and William Pearce Garrett, Barbara Ann Garrett Flynn.
