| I currently have well over 4000 entries in my family tree file, but it has not yet been submitted at this time, so please don't be disappointed when you can't find it. The most common surnames appearing in my tree are GSCHWIND (Illinois, Kansas, Germany), WEIGHTMAN (Nottinghamshire, England), KOCH (Illinois, Germany), KNAPP (Illinois), WAGENBACH (Illinois), PALMER (Illinois, Germany), JANKAUSKAS (Illinois, Lithuania), DUNCAN/SEATON(Illinois, Scotland), and FODOR (Illinois, Hungary). Of these, I am most interested in JANKAUSKAS, GSCHWIND and WEIGHTMAN information.
The earliest date I have is about 1690 in near Selston, England, for James Weightman, who married Elizabeth SAXTON July 24, 1755 in the Pentrich Derbyshire parish church. I found the graves of a previous wife and 18 year old daughter in the cemetary of St. Helen's, where I discoved how stinging nettles got their name.
Most of my Weightman branch of the tree can be documented by church records from a small area of Nottinghamshire in England: St. Helens of Selston, St. Wilfreds of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, and St. Andrews of Stanton Hill, Sutton-in-Ashfield, England. These records are dated from 1755 to present. I visited St. Andrew's in Stanton Hill and the Mansfield Library in March of 2000, where I was able to copy the original records to be filed at home in Illinois.
My maternal grandmother's family (the Weightman family) has currently spread to the United States (Illinois), Australia (South Australia, New South Wales), and England (Nottingham).
Other names that appear breifly in my WEIGHTMAN tree are LINLEY (1800-1820), ALLWOOD (1814), SAXTON (1755), ELLIS (1819), HARDSTAFF (1840-1845), SMITH [Sarah Ann married John George Weightman 1884], TIDESWELL (1869), THOMPSON (1915), BOWER (1940?), CHAMBERS (1945?), BALL (1952), GLASBY (1917).
There are many others, but if you see something that might connect with your tree, please contact me for more information. I am happy to share if you're willing to do the same. While I am constantly looking for more information regarding any individuals in my tree, I am currently concentrating on the Nottinghamshire and Lithuania connections while trying to find out what happened to so many of the people I know exisited! =)
