The Fogarty Family, Michigan and beyond

Updated June 3, 2009

This is only the beginning. I have lots of info and will add it as I have time.

I am researching members of the Fogarty family, as related to John Fogarty. He was born in London England in 1806, and came to Canada before 1837. He married Margaret Knapp of Prince Edward County, Ontario Canada. They had 3 children.
His youngest son John James, was born in Hilton Ontario in 1848. He married Sarah Montgomery. They moved to Canton Michigan in 1872. They had 3 children, John H., Rose and Edward.
We do no know what happeed to John Jr. His wife Sarah remained in Canton until her death. She lived with her son John Heber and daughter in law Elizabeth Maybee.
John Heber Fogarty, stayed in Canton and had two sons and a daughter. John Geoffrey, the middle child, married Anna Freshman in 1937.
I cannot find much info for the Freshman family, before Anna.

On my mothers side;
I am compiling info for family members of Johannes Nilsson, born in Stavnas Sweden in 1821. His son Charles Johannesson (as well as other family members) came to the USA, Marquette MI, in 1878. He was married to Emma Christina Jonsdotter. They had 6 children, Howard, Carl, Gladys, Raymond, Roy and Norman.
Norman, married Eileen Tibor of Marquette MI. The Tibors came tot he USA from Luxembourg before 1872.
I have lots of info for the Johnson's, but not too much for the Tibor's and Havican's from Marquette MI.
