Family Tree Maker's Genealogy Site: User Home Pages: My FOLSOM and HARTMAN Roots

I have been working on my family's genealogy now for 15 years. It has been a great adventure. On my father's side, I started out with only my birth certificate. With that, I was able to find his birthdate, state of birth and occupation. I now have his family all the way back to the 1800's. My mother's side was considerably easier. I have living aunts and my grandfather wrote a book about the first 25 years of his life at sea. "The Seas Were Mine". He ran away to sea when he was 16. He was a mess boy peeling potatoes and ended up being the Captain on the very same ship. I hope you all enjoy the hunt as I do.
