I am seeking descendents of Barber NICHOLS b. 1785 in Rhode Island, married in Canada to Mary/Margaret THOMAS, 13 children born of this union, a known son, Merritt NICHOLS, b. 1817, Orangeville, Genesee Co., NY. Barber was in the NY Militia in the War of 1812 , was a Tanner by trade. Spent 40 years in Canada, living in the Whitby and Pickering Twp., Ontario Co., Ontario area. Second marriage to Lucy PARSHALL in 1830, 7 children of this union. Known children: Adelaide Delia Nichols KINGSLEY, Lucy Nichols SMITH, Mattie NICHOLS, Caroline Nichols CHURCHILL, and Parshall D. NICHOLS. Barber NICHOLS died Jan. 15, 1885 Lockport, Niagara Co., N.Y, buried Cold Springs Cemetery.
I am also seeking family of Folkert (Mamme) FOLKERTS born Dec.12, 1824 Ditzumer Hammrich, Ostfriesland, Germany. He was in German Army, and released in 1845. Married possibly in 1844 to Gebke Aden SIEBENS, born 1821 Ditzumhamrich, Ostfriesland, Germany. Known children, Menno, Ed, Atho Clausen, and Trientje. In 1888, Folkert came to America, with his daughter, Trientje. In 1892, Folkert married Wubke ENGLEMAN. Folkert FOLKERTS died Jan.28, 1897, Butler County, Iowa.

Seeking any information on either of these families. Willing to share what I have.
