William FOLSTON came to New York in about 1809. He was born November 25, 1787 and christened December 28, 1787 in Askham, Westmorland, England. His parents were John FOULSTONE and Mary ALLISON and his siblings were Margaret c. 1774 m. William WALKER in 1801 , John c. 1776 m. Ann WINDER 1800, Mary c.1778 m. John TAYLOR 1806, Elizabeth c. 1779 m. William MOON, George C. 1781, Thomas C. 1783,and Jane C.1785 M. Thomas COOKSON .All were baptized in Askham, Westmorland. William married first Jerusha GREEN, daughter of Henry GREEN and Submit CLARK. They lived in Ontario and Yates County, New York. Their children were: Elizabeth FOLSTON b. November 27, 1814 m. John Werner MOWER; Sarah Folston b. December 18, 1818 m. Jacob SCHENCK; Mary Jane FOLSTON b. 1823 m. Egbert A. SABIN; Benjamin Green FOLSTON B. 1825 M. Susan Ann YATES. Jerusha Green Folston died in 1828 in Jerusalem, Yates, N. Y. Wiiliam FOLSTON sold his property in Jerusalem and moved to Middlesex, N.Y. He married Mary Ann (Sutton?) STARKEY somtime before 1844 when their son William Sutton FOLSTON was born in Middlesex. The family moved to Ada, Kent , Michigan and William died when William Sutton Folston was only 3 or 4 years old. Mary Ann remarried a William Vandusen. We do not know who Mary Ann's parents are or if she was married before she Married William Folston. We are searching for ancestors or descendants in England of John FOULSTONE AND Mary ALLISON. We are also searching for parents of Mary Ann STARKEY (from Canada?) We also are searching for any descendants of William FOLSTON from either marriage.
