Hi all!!! I'm researching my paternal and maternal family histories. The family center for the FONFEREK, SASSMANNSHAUSEN, STEFFEL(STEFL), SCHMIDT and FORAL family names are Brown, Shawano and Oconto Counties in Wisconsin. The FONFEREKs (Faferek history back to 1755) immigrated from Pianowka, Poznan, Prussia (1870), the STEFFELS (Stefl) from Domazlice, Bohemia (1865-1882), the Sassmannshausens in 1850 to Herkimer County, NY from Girkhausen, Germany, and the FORALs from the Czech Republic (1881) possibly Brno. I have located the FONFEREKs in Germany, Canada, Poland, France and the Netherlands. I have found Fafereks in Goraj, Smieskowo, Dembe, Wronki and Lubasz. My ggmothers maiden name was PIOTR from Skrzetusz, Poland. The FORALs come from the Czech Republic. I have located FORALs in Brno, Pribram, Prague, Rosice and Babice. No other FONFEREKs live in the US except direct descendants of Peter FONFEREK. Other Brown & Oconto County names that I'm interested in include: NEWCOMB, THOMPSON, O'CONNOR, JOHNSTON, JOHNSON, AND URBAN.
