The Turpin's of Towns County, GeorgiaUpdated January 20, 2001 |
I am a descendent of George Lee Turpin from Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. My father, George is among the direct line of Turpin's orginating (so far!) from Town's County, Georgia. This Turpin line appears to be very large extending into Union, Rabun, White, and Habersham counties. I am looking to find others who may be a part of this family as well. The farthest back I have documented research is from Joseph Turpin b. March 12, 1818 in Towns County. He married Elizabeth Ann Teasley on March 29, 1850 in Habersham County. Elizabeth was born in Elbert Co. Ga on Nov. 18, 1823. They had seven children. And the tree goes on... We have never met any family from Georgia as my great grandfather, Lee William Turpin b. Sep 25, 1892 in Towns Co. GA moved west to Colorado then to Idaho where we all live now. Any contacts would be appreciated. I am willing to share info. |
