There was Chester, about John M.'s age, Minnie, about Eva's age, and Robert about my age. We farmed All the land that 'went with' the house, but it did not produce enough to feed two families, so us kids 'worked out'. We were picking cotton...And the loving we got. We were sure we were not ordinary children, but something real special..." "Ernest inducted into Army 04 August 1918 at Amarillo, Texas, and served in England and France.
