***2008 Olson REUNION RECAP:

The Olson Family reunion was held at Lyle and Pat Hendrickson's farm in Vergas, Minnesota on July 5, 2008.

We had a great turnout and beautiful weather. Thanks to Lyle & Pat and everyone who helped in the planning of this wonderful event.

Family Photos

  • Iver Nielsen Nord Traaset & Ingeborg Amundsdatter (15 KB)
Iver and Ingeborg were married at the Faberg Oppland Parish on June 24, 1832. They had five sons and two daughters. We know they were still living as of 1875 because they appear on the Norwegian census for that year. According to the census they were living on the Kastrudfladen gaard (farm) near Faberg, Norway with some of their children.
  • Ole Iverson (17 KB)
Ole is the son of Iver Nielsen and Ingeborg Amundsdatter. He was baptised at the Faberg Parish on Feb. 22, 1852. We think this photo was taken about 1875.
  • Anton Olson, Mat Everson and Mr. Burquist (40 KB)
Going left to right is: Anton Olson, Mat Everson (Anton's uncle), and Mr. Burquist. Taken in the summer of 1927 at Whitehall, Wisconsin. Anton Olson is the grandson of Iver & Ingeborg Nielsen and Mat (Mathias) is their son. Mr. Burquist was Mat's brother-in-law.
  • Elmer, Ellen, Myles, Mary and Margie Olson (39 KB)
Taken in the Fall of 1924.
  • Brabandt Farm in Hallingdahl, Norway (33 KB)
This is a copy of a photograph given to me by Gordon (Elmer Hendrickson's son) & Gen Hendrickson. I think this is where the children of Henrik Ostenson Sandanbraten & Ingeborg Knutsdatter Brabandt were born. There is still a Brabant living on that farm today...
  • Hendrik & Ingeborg Brabant family in North Dakota (34 KB)
This is a photograph of the Hendrik (Henry) Brabandt family. I think it was taken after 1915 at their farm in Grandville, North Dakota. Hendrik was born on June 6, 1866 and came to America in 1903. He married Ingeborg Berg on Sept. 10, 1906. Hendrik was a brother to Knute and Lars Hendrickson. He kept the Brabandt farm name, and that is why we have Hendrickson's and Brabandt's in the United States! Hendrik died on June 11, 1956.
  • Knute, Gunhild, Ed, Clarence, & Louis Hendrickson (29 KB)
This photograph was taken in the early 1930's at the Hendrickson farm near Mahnomen, Minnesota. Going left to right is: Ed, Clarence, Louis, Gunhild and Knute Hendrickson. The dog's name was Shep, and he was Elmer Hendrickson's dog. *Note Knute's cane* I have been told by some of Knute's grandchildren that when they were kids, Knute used to grab them with his cane!
  • Niels Pedersen with other prisoners of war - 1864 (96 KB)
This photograph was given to me by Poul-Erik Pedersen. It was taken in front of a hospital. I believe it is in Germany, but I have to double check with Poul-Erik. The men are prisoners of war - Niels is on the right with the red arrow. He was 30 years old.
  • Torger, Ingeborg, Sophia, John & baby girl Sanding (44 KB)
Copy of a tin type photo taken circa 1875. Torger & Ingeborg Sanding lived in Coon Valley, Wisconsin. Sophia is Kristie's great-grandmother. The little girl died when she was very young, and we do not know her name.
