Notes for MARY ANDREW: From a history of the Andrew family by Marian Ward Demore (1977) MARY ANDREW, sister of Jacob, and daughter of James and Elizabeth was born in Missouri about 1843-44. She is shown with her parents in Greene County, (Webster County) Missouri in the 1850 Federal Census; and with them in Washington Township, Pryor's Store, Taney County (later Douglas County), Missouri, in the 1860 Federal Census. She is not shown with any of the family in 1870. There is a marriage record in Webster County, Missouri of a Mary Andrew and John W. Cole, March 17, 1870. Since the family was in Douglas County she may have been married there, but the Court House and records burned about 1886. |

In the 1850 Census he is listed with his parents in Dallas Township, Greene (later Webster) County, Missouri; in the 1860 Federal Census he is listed with his parents in Washington Township, Pryor's Store, Taney (later Douglas County, Missouri; and in the 1870 Federal Census his is listed with his brother Jacob in Ozark Township, Webster County, Missouri. Elias and his younger brother, Silas, joined the small group who chased the Indians, looking for the little red-haired girl who was kidnapped by the Indians. (Jacob's daughter?) |
