1. JOHN¹ CURTSINGER, SR. was born Bet. 1750 - 1760 in Pennsylvania, and died Abt. 1844 in Johnson County, Indiana. He married ANNA PHILLIPS Abt. 1782 in Possibly Fauquier or Loudon County, Virginia. She died Bet. 1839 - 1840.

Notes for JOHN CURTSINGER, SR.:
John Curtsinger, Sr. was born probably between 1750-1760 in Pennsylvania. His father and mother have not been identified. It has been written in letters that John's father possibly was Christian or possibly Gottlieb. No reference or source was given for either possibility. Whoever it was...we believe that John Sr.'s father was close kin to Conrad GRETZINGER the Elder of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and his son Conrad GRETZINGER Sr. of Frederick County, Virginia and Washington County, Kentucky.

This close relationship is evident in the following records. Conrad Sr. appeared on tax lists of Frederick County, Virginia from 1782-1791 and on tax lists of Washington County, Kentucky from 1794-1803. John Sr. appeared in same district, same tax lists of Frederick County from 1787-1794 and as John Sr. on tax lists of Washington County, Kentucky from 1799-1839. The close relationship with the families continued with John Curtsinger Sr. and majority of his children moving to Indiana and grandchildren of Conrad Curtsinger Sr. moving to Indiana.
