User Home Pages: Chelius Cousins
This all began in late '98 when a big brown truck deposited several "cow boxes" on my front porch. A few hours later we had a fully operational computer sitting in one corner of the living room and my wife had begun a long and lasting relationship with the Gateway tech reps. Eventually we graduated from "Free Cell" and "Hearts" and my wife began tracing her family. It wasn't too long after that I got a call from my daughter in Florida wanting to know, "Where did great grandmother Ford come from?" That was an easy one, but you know how kids are, no matter what age; every answer prompts a new question. They never change. Pretty soon I ran out of answers so I called Dad and gave him the same treatment. He started calling cousins and now we know where great grandmother Ford came from; and a lot more. Anna Chelius was born in Bally, Berks County, Pa. With a lot of help from dozens of "cousins" we have traced her back to Pankratius Chelius, the first to use the Chelius surname, in Oberwiddersheim, Hesse in the early 1500's. None of this would have been possible without the cooperation and contributions, large and small, of my cousins throughout the world and the work they have done and shared. The page name is a dedication to my "CHELIUS COUSINS" Thank you. ------------------------- To any of you just passing through, if you don't find a connection here, drop me a line. I have several "short trees" that I don't have enough information yet to join to the main tree. Those short trees represent other Chelii who are out there searching. You might be the one that has the link they need. I am researching Chelius and various spellings of the name; Ford, Byrd and Bellew from County Galway and Pa.; Flecksteiner from Germany and the Bethlehem, Pa. area and any associated spousal family surname in the trees below. If you think you have a homepage that you would like to link to this one, let me know. | Chelius Cousins Updated March 12, 2010 |
