Includes NotesNotes for André (Guillaume) Lafitte:

From RootsWeb- Denise Guntner:
Name: André Lafitte Sex: M Birth: 1762 in Miquelon, Acadia
Note:
The following information came from Mike Talbot. (He is a decendant of Louis André Talbot Jr. son of Louis André Talbot and Rosalie Dugas. Barry is a decendant of Louis André Jr's. brother Emile.) André and brother Louis Joseph Lafitte were prisoners in England for 6 years sometime between 1790 and 1806. Possibly result of deportations from St. Pierre and Miquelon in 1792. This might imply that he married Anne Briand in an English concentration camp. She was also a resident of St. Pierre and Miquelon. Louis André Talbot was born between 1791 and 1796. Maybe an "Evangeline" like story without a happy ending. (from a translated copy sent to me by Cheryl Talbot Hildalgo)

Check this: Could Anne Briand be listed in "Des Registres De Baptemes De L'Ile De St. Pierre 1763-1790 be the same person listed as the wife of Jean-Baptiste Cormier in baptismal records: "CORMIER--Gratienne-Marine baptised 18 June 1790, née idem, de Jean-Baptiste et ANNE BRIAND, p. Banet, Pierre, m. Cormier Magdeleine???

PAF: There is enough circumstantial evidence to indicate that Andre Lafitte and Marie Louise Talbot had a child together--see Talbot Compilation on file. It is possible that they were separated and that he did not know of the birth of Louis André when he was in the English Prison or when he married Anne Briand. No one knows where Marie Louise Talbot was during this period--she could have been with her brother in Guadaloupe?? They were still close friends when she died; he and his family looked after her welfare and managed her business affairs--her will (see Talbot Compilation) strongly points to their affection. André was a legate and the executor of Marie Louise Talbot's will
