Do you have Iowa Ancestors? Let me help with your Iowa Research! Are you stuck at a point in your research where you need some help? I'm Iowa's Family Snoop. Let me look for your ancestors in the State of Iowa in any of the 99 counties. Now it's your turn to "snoop" through this website and see what I can "snoop" out for you at the Iowa Historical Library and Iowa Genealogical Society. I will "snoop" through Iowa State Census Records and all available Iowa Records. Special 1925 Iowa Census is unique as it recorded the names of the parents of all persons enumerated (including maiden names) and if grandmother or grandfather at age 85 was living with their children in 1925, the census will list the names of grandmother's or grandfather's parents. This could extend line back to 1800 and another generation. 1925 census also lists parents' nativity, place of parents' marriage, religion, birthplaces. Also will look at the 1856 State Census (tells number of years have lived in Iowa) 1885 Iowa State Census (gives location of land if property owner), 1895 State Census (lists members of household, Civil War Company, Regiment and State of Service, county of birth if born in Iowa), 1905,1910 Iowa Census Index (gives name of county and page number to find your family in 1910 Iowa Census) and 1915 state census. Let me "snoop" through 1925 State county home census records, residents of Annie Wittenmeyer home and other state institutions. Let me "snoop" through the newspapers for any Iowa town,(newspapers are an excellent source for births, deaths, marriages, obituaries, anniversaries), microfilm rolls of land records,(may give an individual's former residence and spouse's name), county vital records (births, marriages, death records, cemetery records, Church Records, Iowa GAR Records, probates and wills,(will indicate heirs of an estate, plus family relationships), naturalizations,(gives county of origin and date a person attained citzenship), Iowa Quaker Records, delayed births, WWI Draft Registrations, Old Age Assistance Applications, Iowa Pioneer Certificates (pre 1856), family history files, as well as all U.S. Census films and records for other states and countries, 1885 state census for Nebraska and Kansas, German to America books, 1856, 1875, 1895 Wisconsin State Census, etc. I have helped many people in the past fill in the missing parts of their genealogies. I can help you find information about your ancestors whether you are just beginning or have hit a brick wall. The all important question --what does it cost? Research is very reasonable! Let me "snoop" for you. PUBLICATIONS FOR SALE Books 1, 2, 3, 4 Guthrie County, Iowa. This is a series of books about the people of Guthrie County, Iowa 1850's to the present.
