* The Jim Foster Home Page*

Updated September 5, 2000

I,m looking for information on the Foster family. My Dad was born in Kokomo, Indiana in 1903. I have no certain information on his Father and Mother and nothing at all before them. I am aware that a David Foster reportedly founded Kokomo but I'm not certain he's a relative.
On my Mother's side, I am researching the Walker, Waltrip, Lowrance, Guthrie, Thaxton (or Thackston)and Goode families. According to information I have, most of these folks originated in Virginia and emigrated to Southern Illinois, plus a few to Missouri. I am particularly interested in relations who served in the Revolutionary War. I am interested in dates going back before 1760.

I also am searching for information on my wife's family. Her father was Julius Joseph Laas, born in Austro-Hungary around 1900 and died in Germany in 1945. Her mother was Ljuba Laas born in Livno, Croatia, also around 1900 and died in 1989 in Falls Church, VA. We have almost no information about ancestors of either of my wife's parents though we do have sibling information for each of them.

I will be very grateful for any information I can get. Also, I will share any information I have, but I may not always be able to respond quickly.
