Since first posting this web page I have been contacted by a number of "new" relatives whose generosity in sharing their information has greatly added to my family history. Thanks go out to Irene, Bernice, Jim, Gerald & Marlene for sharing their information, as well as many others. Any new leads or corrections are much appreciated.

LOGAN - George & Robert immigrated from the Parish of Aghabog, County Monaghan, Ireland in 1819 and settled in Thorndale, West Nissouri, Ontario about 1820. Their brothers Richard, Edward and William along with Richard's daughters and sons-in-law (Hart, Fox, Dawson & Dinsmore)were all living in West Nissouri by the 1852 census. Many of the descendants of these 5 brothers still live in West Nissouri and the surrounding area. George's Grandson Frederick moved west to Orange Ridge District in Manitoba about 1897.

McCONNELL - immigrated from Ireland in the 1830's settled near Wellington, Ontario then Glencoe before going west by ox-cart to the Orange Ridge District (Birnie, Eden) and then west again to Saskatchewan - including Tisdale & Wynyard

Margaret McConnell married Frederick Logan at Minnedosa in 1900 and the Logans and McConnells moved west again in 1906 to Tisdale, Sask their eight children then spread themselves from Ontario to British Columbia. Have been searching for a deathdate and place of burial for Fred's mother Lavina (Moscrip) Logan who most likely died after 1934.

The Logan and McConnell ancestors include the following names:
MOSCRIP, PINER, McGORMAN, GARDINER, BOWEN, FORD, ARCHER, LONG, McNEIL

Other branches of our tree include:
FOUILLARD - came to Canada from France around 1890.
SIMARD - from Baie St. Paul, Quebec to Manitoba in the 1880's.
GWYER & PARSONS- from Wiltshire, England to Manitoba in the late 1800's.

And yet a different branch:
BRADSHAW or BRADSHAW-FULLARD - birth: Richard Bradshaw on 31 Oct 1872 Halifax Reg Year 1872 Book 1810 Page 220 Number 1501 parents: John Bradshaw and Mary Deane
also found the marriage of John Bradshaw and Mary Dean on 21 Oct 1866 d/o John & Mary Dean and s/o John & Ellen Bradshaw, Mary was 19 and John was 50, a labourer born in Ireland
and a birth for another SON - John W Bradshaw on 30 March 1870
There was a death for a John Bradshaw on 18 Dec 1873 aged 66 born Tipperary, Ireland, a labourer. There was a marriage for a Mary Bradshaw aged 28, a widow, daughter of John & Mary (no last name!) who married a Dominic Walsh on 5 Nov 1876 in Halifax by license. He was age 37 born Waterford, Ireland, a soldier (of the 87th Royal Irish Fusiliers!) and the son of Robt & Cath. A further search shows a Dominek Walsh age 48 born Ireland, his wife Mary age 36 born N.S. and children John W age 11, Richard age 8 (this would match), Robert J age 6 and Dominic T age 2. This could be a possibility

Richard married Elizabeth Mary Leahy daughter of Edmond D. Leahy and Mary Donegan. They had daughters Mary and Eileen.
His cousins may include Philip Fletcher Fullard an ace in England's Royal Flying Corps. Richard's adoptive father John Fullard was born in Ennis Co. Clare, Ireland on June 29, 1842 and enlisted with the 87th Royal Irish Fusiliers on 29 March 1859 in Ennis. On December 6, 1872 in St. Mark's Church John, age 29 son of Adam - a butcher by trade, & Margret(or Bridget) who had died when John was about 16 at which time Adam remarried & John left home, married Adelaide Dean, daughter of John & Mary and sister to Mary.

STURLEY, John Evelyn Sturley born Southam, Warwickshire, England came to Canada about 1912 he was the son of William Burdon Sturley and Martha Watson of Banbury, Oxfordshire. He married Mary Bradshaw-Fullard. Looking for the connection back to Abraham Sturley, contemporary of William Shakespeare.

AVERN, ancestors of the Sturley family, mainly from Rowington, Warwickshire, England, many thanks to Marjorie and others for their help here.
