My Grandmother's maiden name was Maria (or Marian) BOLBACH... both of her birth parents died while she was a minor and her Guardian was Michael and Catherine Ruffing. He didn't adopt her but she resided with him as she was only 19 in 1940 when she married, he had to sign her consent form as Guardian.
