Includes NotesNotes for William A. Tisdale:
The Brizendine-Ford-Tisdale Cemetery:

According to W. D. Floyd: "To get to this small cemetery from the river bridge in Lawndale, NC on Highway NC182, go west by the mill to a road that turns left and goes south along the side of the mill. Follow this road for about half a mile to the top of the hill and find the Rube Spangler Road on the left. Go east on the Rube Spangler Road to the fourth house on the left. The cemetery is behind the house in the woods. I was there September 8, 1997. This is a very neglected cemetery as most of the markers are down or broken. There were at least three markers that I couldn't read and the area is pretty overgrown. It is sad, but this one is going away. This reading of markers was donated by Charlie Jones."

According to Joe Tisdale (Great-great Grandson to William A. Tisdale): "William A. Tisdale married Mary Ford in Virginia in 1822. Mary died in 1829 or before, and William married her sister, Frances Ford and moved to Rutherford County, NC (now Cleveland County) around 1830. He apparently followed Young Brizendine to North Carolina. (Joe's Great Grandfather was Avant Pinkney Tisdale, brother of Elmina Tisdale -- and Lafayette Tisdale.)

Joe contributed the following information, as well: "Henry Tisdale is listed in Anne Wilkes' Will as her brother, and he was the executor of the Will. She left all of her estate, after debts were paid, to the orphans of Thomas Tisdale (Hinchey M. Tisdale and his brother, William A. Tisdale), and to Bary Snead's (8) children. All of the money arising from the sale of Anne's estate was to be paid to each of the named children when each reaches 21 years of age: Lunenburg County, January 12, 1815. (William A. would have been about 15 years of age.)

(I have not researched the above names: Henry Tisdale, Anne Wilkes, or Thomas Tisdale, but can accept the fact that William A. Tisdale's father is Thomas. I can only surmise that Anne Wilkes and Henry Tisdale are the sister and brother of Thomas and that the Snead family might be another Tisdale sister's family, until further research is done on these individuals.)
