Find Family
I am researching the surnames of Fox, Cain, Gabbard/Gabbert and Maupin. What I know is that Fox is of English origin and Gabbard
is German. Maupin is French and as of now I know very little of
Cain. All of these names came together on the Southeast coast
of the USA and migrated into Kentucky and from there during
the industrial growth migrated into Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.
My immediate ancestors migrated to Connersville, Indiana & there
for the most part they are buried......
For reference I was born 1/29/1938 in Foxtown, Jackson County,
Kentucky. I now live in the suburbs of Nashville, Tennessee.

    Shadrach Fox is Son of Isaac Fox and Almarinda Griffith born in Foxtown, Kentucky and is buried there in the Fox Cemetery. Foxtown is North of McKee, Kentucky on Hwy 89.
  • James B. Fox & Tincie E. Cain (385 KB)
    Jim B.(Son of Shadrach)and Tincie were married 8/24/1911 in Foxtown, Kentucky at the home of James Cain, Tincie's father and they had 12 children, 5 boys and 7 girls. Jim B. was an accomplished carpenter and Tincie was a great mother and was very talented at quilting.
