When "Benny" Martinez was a young man, his father, old and ill, could no longer manage the family fishing business. Benny took on his father's work load on the boat owned by his uncle, Hermogenes Ferniz, and when he got paid, he would share his income with family members who were in need. This was a common custom throughout the history of our family, that no one would go hungry, no one would be homeless: family helps family.
