I am researching several families, all of which ended up in and around the Piedmont area of North Carolina.
The CRAVER family of NC has its roots in the GRABER/GREBER/GRAEBER families of PA. The name Craver was translated in my family from the German Graber in the late 1700s. I am specifically interested in Andreas Graber (B. abt. 1700, D. abt. 1760) in PA, whose son, Philip Craver (1745-1820) migrated with his family to Rowan County, NC. Many of Philip's descendants still live in this area, now Davidson County, NC. Others moved to IN, IL, GA and TX.
My FOY Family is traced back to John Foy, B. 1804 in NC. He is listed in Rockingham County's census records for 1830, along with a wife and two young male children. He died in Rockingham County in 1864 and is buried there in a small family cemetery along with his wife, Rebecca Webster (1804-1872). According to census records, John Foy was born in North Carolina, but it is not known in which county or who his parents were. It is possible that John Foy was the son of Andrew Foy. According to census records, Andrew Foy was listed in Stokes County census in 1800 and in the Rockingham County censuses in 1810 and 1820. He was age 26-44 in the 1800 census and over 45 years of age in both Rockingham County census records. There is a record of an Andrew Foy in the 1790 Montgomery County, PA, census. Abel Amos' will from 1823 Montgomery County lists Hannah, wife of Andrew Foy, as the sister of Abel. John Foy may have had the following siblings: Andrew Foy, B. abt. 1812, who moved to Franklin County, MS; Pleasant Nichols Foy, B. abt. 1814, who lived in Rockingham County, NC; Richard Henry Foy, B. abt. 1815, who moved to Massac County, IL; James Madison Foy, B. abt. 1817, who moved to Thomas County, GA; Elizabeth Foy, B. abt. 1819, who married Thomas Southern; and Samuel Foy, B. abt. 1820, who moved to Thomas County, GA.
My ROBINSON family lived in Kershaw, Chesterfield and Lancaster counties in SC during the late 1700s and early 1800s. William Robinson had at least 10 children, including my ancestor, Littleton Robinson (B. abt. 1801).
My FISHEL Family information was collected mostly by my mother, Margruette Robinson Craver. Most of the information pertains to NC descendants. After my mother's death, I transcribed her notes on the family.
