This was told to me by my step-father-in-law or uncle Willie as his step-children called him. His parents went to Iowa in a cover wagon. They had Lillie and Lula Estella. Clint was named after Clinton, Iowa. Uncle Willie told me that is how he got the name Clinton. He didn't know how long they stayed, but they did not like it there so returned to West Virginia. Since Clinton's birth is on record at the Jackson Co. courthouse they must have returned before he was born Sept. 1881.
