Lillie Mae (Franklin) Waggoner, died at her home in Sandyville at 11 o'clock Saturday night, March 30, following a week's illness of pneumonia. Mrs. Waggoner was born May 25, 1878, a daughter of Monroe and Mariah Franklin.
She was married to Mr. Waggoner on April 15, 1901. A member of the Copper Fork church for the past 18 years, she was a well known and highly respected resident of the community. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon April 2, at the Independence church with Rev. Charles W. Pugh officiating. Interment was in the Independence cemetery with the Ford Mortuary in charge. Besides her husband, Mrs, Waggoner is survived by three sons, Johnnie Waggoner, of Cuyogha Falls, Ohio; Elmer and Glen Waggoner, of Ravenswood; four daughters, Mary Stacey of East Liverpool, Ohio; Lulu Crothers, of Palestine, WV., Tennie and Helen Waggoner at home, and 12 grandchildren. Two sons, Chester and Russel and a daughter, Galena, preceded her in death. (Herald, 5 April 1940).
