William Ervin Franklin William Ervin Franklin, 87, of Rt. 1, Ravenswood died Wednesday at the Jackson General Hospital after a short illness. Born May 2, 1892, he was the son of the late Monroe and Maria Franklin of Silverton. He was a farmer member of the Silverton United Methodist Church, member of the American Legion and a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Irene Suck Franklin; one daughter Hazel Faye Franklin at home; three step-daughters, Mrs. Jessie Rucker of Tyler Mountain, Charleston, Mrs. Bessie Swatkowski of Oaklawn, IL, and Mrs. Carol Staats of Ravenswood; four step-sons, Lawrence Franklin of Winfield, Gail Franklin of Charleston, Clarence Franklin of Midlothian, IL and Glen Franklin at home and 21 step-grandchildren. One step-son , Charles William Franklin of Cottageville, preceded him in death. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Loris Pullins officiating. Burial will be in the Ravenswood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to made to the American Cancer Society.
