2. ROBERT³ FRANCIS (JOHN², THOME¹ FRAUNCES) was born January 02, 1626/27 in Norwich, Norfolk England, and died January 02, 1711/12 in Wethersfield, Connecticut ¹. He married JOAN SIBBERANCE 1651 in Wethersfield, Connecticut. She was born 1629 in England, and died January 29, 1704/05 in Wethersfield, Connecticut.

Notes for ROBERT FRANCIS:
His name appears on the Wethersfield records as having been made freeman in 1645. He is also recorded as having purchased land from John Latimer, March 29, 1652. It is supposed that he migrated from the Massachusetts Colony to settle in Wethersfield. The name Richard Francis appears on the records of Cambridge, Massachusetts as having settled there in 1636, and who had previously resided at Dorchester, Massachusetts.

This Richard was referred to in a diary of Judge Sewell published by the Massachusetts Historical Society as "an ancient and good man indeed." This Richard was born in the year 1616 in England and married Alice Wilcox in 1644. He is supposed to have been related to Robert, - either cousin or uncle, and perhaps came to America at the same time.

Robert established a farm at Wethersfield and became a prominent member of the first Congregational Church of that place.
