This site is dedecated to the descendants of John and Jane Francis of Washington County, Tennessee and related families.
John was possibly the son of a Daniel Francis who came from England to America in the early years of the eighteenth century, settling first in Pennsylvania, and then in Maryland where he married and reared a family.John married a Miss Baity/Beatty who was reared on the banks of the Potomac River near where the old white house stands.They reared the following children: John (born 1794, married Betsy Burris 1813), Agnes (born 1796, married Henry Jones), Daniel (born 1797, married Martha Gervin), Ephraim (born 1800, married Anne Andes), James (?), William (born 1810; married Polly Allmon in Haywood County, NC), and Jane (born 1813; married John Pressnell).
