Descendants of Thomas Carroll

Generation No. 2

2. John² Carroll (Thomas¹) was born Abt. 1793 in Ireland, and died 1877 in East Wawanosh, Ontario. He married Jane Donaldson Abt. 1815. She was born Abt. 1790 in Ireland, and died Bef. 1871 in Ontario.

Notes for John Carroll:
John was still listed in the East Garafraxa 1881 Census as living with his son Thomas and family. The family emigrated to Canada sometime between 1843 and 1845 and then settled in Garafraxa Township shortly after arrival.

In the 1851 Census of East Garafraxa, John's son David is listed as head of house with an Alexander Carroll, age 18, and an Eliza Carroll, age 16. Other researchers have attributed these two people as children of John and Jane, which is how I have listed them here. However, according to the Tithe Applotment records of Ireland, in 1830, there is a John Carroll, landowner, and Brian Carroll, landowner. Being as the name Alexander is not replicated in other lines of the tree, nor is the name Eliza to any extent, it is my belief that Alexander and Eliza are cousins rather than siblings of our known Carroll families.

+	7	iv.	David Carroll, born 1826 in County Armagh, Ireland; died 2 August 1906 in 17th Line, Garafraxa Township, Ontario.
+	8	v.	Joseph Carroll, born 1832 in Ireland; died 4 December 1913 in Mount View, Ontario.
+	9	vi.	Alexander Carroll, born 1833 in Newtownhamilton, County Armagh, Ireland; died 25 December 1879 in East Garafraxa, Ontario.
+	10	vii.	Eliza Carroll, born 1835 in Newtownhamilton, County Armagh, Ireland; died 6 December 1901 in Belgrave, Ontario.

3. Mary² Carroll (Thomas¹) was born 1803 in County Armagh, Ireland, and died 1902. She married (1) Hugh Galbraith. She married (2) MacGowan Blackstock. He was born 1798 in Keadytown, Armagh, Ireland.

Child of Mary Carroll and Hugh Galbraith is:

John³ Galbraith.
