He married Mary Taylor, daughter of Johnathan Taylor and Abigail ?. She was born 25 October 1682.

Notes for Mary Taylor:
Mary Taylor (John 2, Robert 1) was of the family for whom Taylor's Lane in Little Compton, Rhode Island is named. Robert 1, who probably came from Kent, lived in Newport and was a ropemaker. His farm was at "Taylor's Point" in Newport, later called "Ochre Point" and where "The Breakers" mansion was built.
