I am a professional storyteller and family historian collecting stories and infomation on the Francis-Street families from my father's side of the family, and the Deck/Milhorn families from my mother's side of the family, and of course, all the buds and shoots from each branch, there of. The Francis-Street family are from NC and some have settled in Tennessee an Maryland. The Deck-Milhorn family are from Sullivan County, Tennessee and Washingtion Co., Va. and most still live in this area. My Great Uncle Johnny Francis started me on this wonderful adventure when I was still in college. We spent the summer of 1972 visiting families and walking through grave yards as he shared his stories of long ago with me. Upon retirment I went to my attic and pulled out the dusty notes from 1972 and decided it was time to keep my promice to Great Uncle Johnny to see that our family tree was published for the future generatons to know what made them who they are. Johnny died shortly after our summer together but in spirit he is alive each day I tell another family story, or add another name to the family tree. I have teamed up with my cousin Roger Francis on this project and now the joy is a double joy. Roger was a cousin I had never met, as he grew up in the North and I in the South. We both had been working on this project without the other knowing it. Wow, was it a delight to find a lost cousin with my same passions and interest. Sharing so much of the past together, through this family project has made us seem like twins growing up and playing in the same back yard. Perhaps there are other new cousins I am to meet as well. Contact me if you are in this family and share your own story with me. Let the joy be double once again.
