Includes NotesNotes for Marguerite "Mags" Louise Orcutt:
[My Grandmother]

Royal Frazier, her son, said she had a good sense of humor. An uncle (her brother or half brother) discovered a washed up body, which was believed to be a Mafia-related hit. She called him and pretended to be from the Mafia. "They" were very upset that he had reported his find to the police. Marguerite Searles said that she was a fairly proper English woman. Very enamoured of the British Royal family. SHe thought the abdication of the throne by Duke Edward so that he could marry a commoner was the most romantic thing she had ever seen.

She is buried in the same plot as her husband in Mt. Hope Cemetery under a maple tree at the back high row. She does not have a headstone or marker. Homer has a PA-Issued World War I marker.

A photo dated 1923(age 15), shows her 7th grade class in Port Dickerson. She looks younger than 15.

Marguerite Correll

Born: 17 Oct 1917
Died: 15 Jul 1994

If Marguerite Searles was a real niece, then the likely connection is she is the daughter of Edna Ruth Orcutt & ____ Searles. Edna died of blood poisoning after Helen in 1934, Binghamton (assume the last child she gave birth to) was born. In the 1930 census Marguerite Searles is with Marguerite Orcutt-Frazier. She is listed as a granddaughter after Lillian Orcutt(17). Edna is the only missing daughter and she did die young--which matches what Marguerite Searles told me herself. One I have some corroboration of this, it can move under Edna.
