He believes he was born in Bernice, Sullivan Co., Pennsylvania. Bernice is 60-70 miles west of Carbondale where they lived in 1920. His parents were Joseph Knapick and "Mary,Theresa,Golinsky". Don't know why the typist put commas between the names.

In the 1930 census there are two othe Knapick families (Joseph 41 & John 36--he was 28). These could be older siblings or cousins/uncles. Stanley(30) is the only know older sibling.
