Hancock Court of Ordinary, January Term 1917
The petition of Joseph L. Jackson nominated executor of the last alleged will of Caroline J. Jackson duly filed, having been supported by proper proof of R.H. Lewis a witness to said will, that said Caroline F. Jackson died a resident of said county that he and the other witness J.E. Walls and N.C. Lunsford saw her sign and have her publish the alleged will as her own last will, that he attested the same as a witness at her request and in her presence with J.E. Walls and N.C. Lunsford so attending also at her request; that said Caroline F. Jackson was at the time of said signing and attesting of sound and disposing mind and memory, and did in the execution of said Will, act freely and voluntarily; it is ordered that the same be duly re… having been duly proven in common form, and that letters testamentary issued to him upon his taking oath of office.

In the name of God Amen!
I Caroline F. Jackson being of sound mind and memory and wishing to dispose of my property after my death as to me seems just and proper do make publish and declare this as my last will and testament.
1st I desire Christian burial and all of my just debts paid.
2nd I will and desire all of my property real and personal to my son Joseph L. Jackson absolutely and hereby name him as sole executor of my last will and testament.
That there may be no misunderstanding in regard to this my testament purpose. I desire say that my said son cared for his father during the lat feeble span of his life and has cared for me, and in caring for me in my declining years and I think this is a proper response to his filial attention.
