| My relatives are mostly from Kentucky, Virginia and Ohio. Fleet: William Temple FLEET was born Jan. 21, 1775 is my earliest relative to date on this line. So far it is still unknown exactly where he was born. I believe it was in Virginia but it could of been in England or elsewhere in the U.S. I am diligently trying to find his parents. My Grandfather Ernest Christopher FLEET was born and lived for a time at "Whitehall", an Anti-Bellum Southern Plantation in Walkerton,King & Queen Co., Virginia. Today the Babyaks still reside at the residence and whenever one of Ernests' descendents stops by they are welcomed with open arms and hearts. Virginia Surnames associated with this line: Tompkins, Richards, Hill, Ryland, Trevillian, Dowell, Ryland, and Semple. **Update on my Fleet line Nov 17, 2012** After 30 years of searching I have found the parents to my William Temple Fleet born in 1779. His is the son of Henry Fleet 1750-1826 and Mildred Pierce 1759-?. William was born in Lancaster, Lancaster Co., Virginia. He married Elizabeth Mildred Gwynne Tompkins on May 22, 1806 in Caroline Co., Virginia. Upon a recent visit to Richmond, Virginia Oct 2012 my mom visited Whitehall in Walkerton again only to find that most of the property sold and is now a park with campgrounds. The house still stands and some of the surrounding buildings but there is not public access anymore. Hise: Scioto Co., Ohio 1814 Maysville, Mason Co., Kentucky 1850-Present Surnames attched to this line: Daulton, Pollard, Loundenback, Daulton and Stephens. Daulton:Prince William Co., Virginia 1761-1850 Maysville, Mason Co., Kentucky 1850-?. Surnames attached to this line: Fristoe, Woolfolk, Barker, and Hise. Stephens:John James STEPHENS and Elizabeth REID came to America from Scotland and settled in Maysville, Ky. between 1848 to 1850. John had their own brickyard in Maysville and the majority of the cobblestone streets where laid by John and his son James. Surnames attached to this line: Holliday, Reid/Reed, West, Hise. Frierdich/Fredrick:Cincinatti,Ohio 1880-Present. They lived in Cincinnati, Ohio and the Covington, Ft Thomas, Bellevue areas and later Maysville all in Kentucky. Germany Surnames attached to this line: Koch and Thuman. The original spelling was FRIERDICH and my Grandfather Earl had it changed legally to the current spelling of FREDRICK. |
