Notes for Jennifer Tharon Posey:
On November 3, 2001 I was in an accident and lost my left hand at work. A 110 ton press came down and crushed my left hand. I was midflighted to Huntsville Main Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama. I was working at VAW of America they sold out few months later to Hydro Alumin of North America located in Fayetteville, Tennessee.

I clock in at 6:00pm and the accident happen at 6:15pm. I was only trained for 5 minutes and left, I started working their on September 13, 2001. According to the Osha reports there was no safety guards on the machine at all. Some one in the plant was told to remove the safety guards.

When the accident happen their was no one around so I had to go across the plant holding my hand with my right hand, to get help. Chuck Fortee and Jimmy Kimbrough held pressure on my hand while Kay Hill( later married a Partee) and Harmony Hall went to call 911( Kay and Harmony was the ones training me on this machine). When the ambulance got there they radio for a medflight upon arriving at Huntsville Hospital the doctor came in and left , when my parents arrived ( Wanda Bonner, Tim Posey(my brother), Terry Posey,Beverly Posey and Keeley Posey (my half-sister) the doctor came back in and told them that my hand had to be amputated their was no way to save it. My daughter, Nola McKenzie French, was three years old at the time and was kept by stepfather (Harold Bonner) while I was in the Hospital. My mother had cancer and was going threw cemo theropy at the time. My husband, Stephen French, did not come to the hospital tell the next night around 7:00pm, while all other family had already been.
