Benjamin Hawkins, son of Philemon Hawkins and Delia Martin, born in Bute Co., North Carolina and served as one of the first senators from the state. Later Indian Agent for All Tribes South of the Ohio River, built the Creek Agency on Flint River, Georgia. Married Lavinia Downs, Lower Muscogee Creek Nation.
