We have done extensivly in Australia the Freebody Family from our Convict Sions Clarkson Freebody born in London 1765 died at Windsor Australia in 1855. He was the son of John Freebody born about 1740 and Ann Walls born 1744. they Married at Edmondton and had Sions, John, Arthur, George, & Mary. Some of Arthur's family went to USA.
Our Sions Clarkson was sent to Australia af tried at Middlesex for stealing a dead sheep and selling it with the wool still attached. He was held on a Hulk on the Thames until transportation to Australia on the Surprise arriving on the Second Fleet. He took a common law wife in Mary Wells (Convict)and they had the following children. Ann (Nancy) who married Daniel Hanchard (Convict) then had an issue of 3 childred to a James Oldfield (Who is a bit of a mystery man) then married a Daniel Hansell (Convict). Second was Sarah who Married John Hoskisson Next was Simon who married Susannah Miles Next Mary Ann who married Daniel Search (Convict) Two deceased children. Then John who married Sarah Connelly.
Simon was tried with 4 others for the murder of natives who had killed Thomas Hoskisson John's father. They were tried but after awaiting word from England to see what sentence they would receive, they were set free.
Susannah Miles was the daughter of a First Fleeter. Anybody descending from any of these names please get in touch and we will join you into our family.
