| Basically the family history research has taken only a small first step. Most research to date has been concentrated in County Down and County Armagh. Recent data indicates this will be broadened to include County Tyrone and County Fermanagh. In addition to the Irish ancestry, it seems the search will also include ancestors from Scotland and England. It is hoped there will be new information posted to this site on a regular basis. I would appreciate hearing from anyone researching similar surnames in Northern Ireland. Also Trueman in Manchester Ct. U.S.A., Burridge in Scotland and the Thomas Wilson family from Cumberland, England. So far, no luck whatsoever in tracing the Burridge family in Dorset. Lots of Burridges in Dorset, Devon, Somerset but none from the line I am interested in. Just recently discovered there is a significant group of "Trueman" family in the St. Thomas/London area of Southwest Ontario, Canada. Seems they are related to the same Truemans I am researching in Co. Armagh, N. Ireland and Manchester Ct. U.S.A. Base just keeps on broadening. |
