Ignatowski, Robert A.
Madison - Robert A. Ignatowski died on Tuesday, October 31, 1989 in a local hospital of cancer. He was born on June 22, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to Geneva and Clement Ignatowski. From 1959 to 1967 he was a member of the rock band "Johnny and the Hurricanes" who, in the early 60's traveled all over the world and played with many famous rock artists, including the Beatles, in Hamburg, Germany. His travels brought him to Madison in 1965, where he met and later married the former Cheryl Freeman on April 30, 1966 in Toledo, Ohio. They were married for 23 years and had two daughters. After the birth of their first daughter in 1967, they moved to Madison where he worked as a printer at United Data Center/Tymeshare Corporation for 15 years. After leaving Tymshare he became a bartender and worked in many local establishments. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa in 1968; his father in 1981; and his mother in 1982. He is survived by his wife, Cheri; his daughter, Deena; two brothers; and many nieces, and nephews. Bob will always be remembered for his kindness and faithfulness to his friends and family, and the courageous strength he had while fighting his battle with cancer. You will be sorely missed Bobby. Romans 8:38-39. Funeral services will be held at the Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, on Saturday, November 4, 1989 at 10:30a.m. The burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetary. There will be no visitation. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
