1.JOHN?1 FREEMAN was born Bef. 1740.
Notes for JOHN? FREEMAN:
This family is outlined in the "History of Screven Co. Georgia" (Dixon/Hollingsworth)
This family file was created as a result of James Reddicks research suggesting that Jacob and Noah Freeman of Screven Co. Georgia were NOT the sons of the John Freeman who ran a ferry on Briar Creek. They were the sons of another John Freeman.
DNA research also supports Mr.Reddicks suggestion. A relative of Jacob and Noah Freeman, one Washington Freeman has a descendant who's Y-DNA test reveals that this family is descended from the John Freeman family of Norfolk Co. Virginia whos family is outlined in Merrill Hill Moshers book.
Y-DNA test results for descendants John Freeman of Briar Creek are completely different.
Washington Freeman's orphaned children were raised by KNOWN family members of Jacob Freeman#2 in this family file.
