"John DAVIS, Sr., father of John DAVIS, Jr. who married Rachel WEST 1788 Mad. Co., KY in 1785 left a special Legacy to William DAVIS, a minor in 1816 son of John Jr. Paid John D. AUSTIN trustee for same. Allowances made for board and washing in 1818-1819. This William was probably the father of Willard DAVIS, an atty about 1850. Eleanor DAVIS who md Claiborn TEATER also had a special Legacy from John DAVIS Sr."
