Baptist converted to Episcopal. Lumberjack, carpenter, farmer, boat refinisher. Owned gas station downtown with Baird Maranville around 1951-54. Active member Free Masons of the State of New York. Grand Sword Bearer, Master of Warrensburg Lodge 425, 1967, 1972 & 1973. Served two terms as High Priest Warrensburg Chapter 325, Royal Arch Masons, and was President of Saratoga-Warren & Washington Districts past Masters Association. Also served many years as Chief of the Bolton Volunteer Fire Department.
Says he is mostly of dutch descent. Was a Blacksmith (only for where he worked and relatives) & used to ride/work at Bradley's Stables on Horicon Ave, Bolton.. Lived in Warrensburg on Elm Street where Harold was born, before moving to Bolton (Federal Hill Rd) until 1961-62 when he move to Brook Street.
Worked for CCC under WPA Program. Raised chickens & pigs in early days at home in Bolton. Had Weimeroner Hex for Fire Dept. and ran Sawmill for Bill Nedeau for awhile. (Built Bill's house.) Liked to ice fish and Hunt deer.

[02/26/98, Harold French said he was told by Helen Russell that at the age of thirteen (13), during a thunderstorm, she took shelter under a rock ledge and when lightening struck, it actually took the soles of her shoes off. From that point, her hair rapidly turned grey.]
Great Great? Grandfather came over from France and lived in NY City on 33rd Street. He would never ask for his street on the trolley but got off one street before or after because he would always say "Turdy Turd" street.
