I am researching the FRIEDMAN - WINKEL family genealogy. The FRIEDMAN tree includes: Mitchell Friedman, parents: Harvey and Ida (Robbins) Friedman. The FRIEDMAN family ?immigrated from Poland around the early 1900's. The ROBBINS family immigrated from Russia around the same time. Both families settled in Chicago, Illinois. The WINKEL tree includes: Barbara (Winkel) Friedman, parents: Eli and Julia (Shafran) Winkel. The WINKEL family immigrated from Lithuania around the early 1900's, and settled in Des Moines, Iowa, before going to Chicago, Illinois. The SHAFRAN family: William Shafran and Vera (Lesoff) Shafran families both came from Russia around the same time, and settled in Chicago, Illinois.
