| I'm searching for my dad's side of the family....It starts with my great grandfather Charles(charlie)Phillips born 1873 or 1876 and died in 1950 in Grand Traverse County Michigan. He was married to a Bertha Covey...marriage records say corey...we know thats a mistake...She was born in 1880 and died in 1907 in Montcalm County Michigan. She died having a child....his name was Earl Phillips...My grandfathers youngest brother from this union...My grandfathers name was George Andrus Phillips...born in 1903 in Marion died in 1/27/1951 in Kalkaska Michigan...He was given to Charlies brother William to raise...William had a daughter named Barbra Phillips she later married a man named Trebian....George met a lady by the name of Anna Bertine Wells in Belding Michigan...My grandmother came to belding to work in the silk mills...They met at a dance...she was born in august 11 1905in Kalkaska michigan and died dec 29 1979 in Kent County michigan. They married November 15,1924. They had five children...after they married they moved up to kalkaska...They are buried in Excelsor Cemetary in Kalkaska...there children are Norma Bertha Phillips Covert,George Wells Phillips,Doyle lee Phillips,Donna Lou Phillips,and my father Paul Elwin Phillips.....I have been searching all over michigan....so far the counties I have been able to locate any phillips family memebers in are Grand Traverse,Kalkaska,Oseola,Montcalm,Ionia and Kent Counties....If any of this sounds familiar please email me....Cherokee_Storm@hotmail.com |
