John was born in Schoelinder, Lutmertache Greyse (About 6 Miles from Dresden) Germany. Graduate of the University of Prague.
On June 4, 1783 John Godfrey Fritchey Sailed From Texel, Holland With His Friend, A Young Navy Surgeon, Dr. S. C. Wiestling, And They Landed October 4, 1783 At Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Both Intending To Return To Germany. After A Walking Tour Through Pennsylvania, They Returned To Philadelphia To Wait For A Return Boat. Dr. Wiestling Was Persuaded To Remain To Treat A Patient, Wife Of An Innkeeper By The Name Of Messemer Or Minsker. Dr. Wiestling Married May 10, 1785 At Philadelphia. Dr. Wiestling A Successful Doctor, Trappe, Montgomery County (Philadelphia About 1792-1793). Dr. Wiestling Moved In Spring 1811 To Harrisburg Where His Practice Of Medicine Greatly Increased, 1817 Stricken With Paralysis And Died April 28, 1823. John, With His Family And That Of His father-in-law , All Moved To Dauphin County (Harrisburg), Locating On Along Blue Mountain, Near Paxtang, On Road Leading From Susquehanna River To Linglestown About 6 Miles From Harrisburg. John Godfrey Fritchey Was A Catholic Or So Reared, But Did Not Object To 13 Children Following The Teachings Of His Wife's Church, German Reformed. Buried Weinrich Church Yard (AKA Shoop’s Church Yard), Paxtang, Daulphin County, Pennsylvania.
