2. BRIGITTA (BRITA)2 FRIEND (NILS LARSSON1) was born 1657 in Upland, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania, and died 1720 in St. Georges Creek, New Castle Co., Delaware. She married JOHN PETERSSON COCK Abt. 1678, son of PETER COCK and MARGARET LOM. He was born 1656 in Upland, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania, and died December 16, 1713 in St. Georges Creek, New Castle Co., Delaware.

RIGITTA (BRITA) FRIEND:
Brigitta Friend, wife of John Petersson Cock, was born 1657. She married John Cock (son of Peter Larsson Cock) and had nine children.

She is identified by the Chester court entry of 13 December 1698 when a grand jury presentment against "John Cock's wife and her sister, " Sarah Friend, was dismissed. C.C.R. 2:29. New Castle court records show the entry of a judgement on 15 Nov. 1720 by Martha Cock (widow of Lasse Cock) for a L6 debt against Bridget Cock, executrix of John Cock. OHN PETERSSON COCK:
John Cock was taxed for land at Crum Creek in 1693 although the deed confirming his purchase of 280 acres was not executed until 25 March 1694. This land was sold 26 Nov. 1700, PA 2d. 19:298. Meanwhile, on 7 November 1700 he had purchased 854 acres at St. Georges Creek, New Castle County, from Jacob Young, Jr. New Castle deeds, G-1:199. John Cock's wife is identified by the Chester court entry of 13 December 1698 when a grand jury presentment against "John Cock's wife and her sister, " Sarah Friend, was dismissed. C.C.R. 2:29. 3. ANDERS (ANDREW) NILSSON2 FRIEND (NILS LARSSON1) was born 1659 in Upland, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania, and died Abt. 1748 in near Harpers Ferry, Jefferson County, Virginia. He married (1) REBECCA HELM 1689 in New Sweden, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. She was born 1670, and died Abt. 1703. He married (2) ISABELL STIDHAM 1689 in Upland, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. She was born 1661.

NDERS (ANDREW) NILSSON FRIEND:
Anders (Andrew) Friend was born 1659. His first wife was probably a daughter of Israel Helm.
LDS Batch/File No. 1760725 lists birth date as 1661 in Frederick County, Maryland. U. S., Maryland (as of 1992) page 4,693.

On December 14, 1683 Andrew (Anders Nelson) Friend was appointed Tax Collector of Chester, Pennsylvania (formerly Upland).

Up until 1693, and for a period thereafter, Anders split his time between Chester County and West Jersey, where he was taxed for 200 acres in Andrew Robeson's "New Stockholm" tract in 1687,

On March 16, 1687 Andrew Nelson, Alias Friend, was indicted.

Andrew was again appointed Tax Collector in October, 1689.

On September 3, 1690 Andrew and his brother Johannes (John) were indicted for killing and taking away on August 6, 1690 a hog or hogs from Peter or Woola Dalbo.

Anders moved to New Castle County, Delaware in 1693.

By 1697, Anders Nilsson alias Friend had moved to New Castle County. In 1710 he was residing with his son Israel Friend near Harper's Ferry, Virginia. His children, aside from Israel, included Charles, Rebecca and Maria. In 1724, his wife was named Isabel.

Andrew Friend died in Maryland after 1740, and had at least four children, including Israel Friend, well-known Indian trader and interpreter.

4. CARIN (CARTHERINE)2 FRIEND (NILS LARSSON1) was born 1661 in Upland, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania, and died April 19, 1721 in Raccoon Creek, Gloucester Co., New Jersey. She married OLOF (WOOLA OR WILLIAM) DALBO 1681, son of ANDERS DALBO and ELIZABETH ?. He was born 1661 in Kingsessing, Pennsylvania, and died February 19, 1711/12 in Raccoon Creek, Gloucester Co., New Jersey.

ARIN (CARTHERINE) FRIEND:
Catharine (Carin) Friend, born 1661, who married Olof (William) Dalbo died at Raccoon Creek in 1721, the mother of nine children. She was a sister of Johannes (John) Friend and the daughter of Nils Larsson Friend and Anna Andersdotter. She and five of her children died between April 16, 1721 and May 31, 1721, probably all from the smallpox epidemic that struck
the area along the Delaware that year. Son Johan, born in 1694 died April 16, 1721; Catherine (Carin), born in 1661 died April 19, 1721; daughter Anna Catherine, born ? died April 21, 1721; son Charles, born in 1688 died April 22, 1721; son Lars, born in 1684 died May 28, 1721 and daughter Berthil, born in 1700 died May 31, 1721.

LOF (WOOLA OR WILLIAM) DALBO:
Woola (also called Olof or ,in English, William) Dalbo (or Dahlbo) was the son-in-law of Nils Larsson Friend and his wife, Anna (Andersdotter) and was the husband of Carin (Catharine) Friend.

Woolly Dalboe was chosen as one of the representatives of the fourth Tenth in a session of the Legislature \on November 25, 1685. Source - "Gloucester County under the Proprietors",. Compiled and Edited by Frank H. Stewart, pg. 7A.

Court Order to Record Ear Marks of Swine and Cattle of September, 1686 includes ear marks for the animals of Peter and Woolley (Woola) Dalbo. Source - "Gloucester County under the Proprietors", Compiled and Edited by Frank H. Stewart, pg. 13B.

The first lawsuit about land was the case of William (or Woola) Dalbo versus Peter Matson December 10, 1686 after a curious case in which the justices who were supposed to appear on December 1st did not all appear. Source - "Gloucester County under the Proprietors", Compiled and Edited by Frank H. Stewart, pg. 16A & B, and 17A.

Will: Dalbo (Woola Dalbo) was among the signers of a petition soon after 1686 requesting that "the two winter Courts for the County (Gloucester Co., NJ) may be kept at Henry Treadwaes at the Red Bank." December 1, 1687 - "Five more bridges under the jurisdiction of Andrew Robeson and Woolley (Woola) Dalboe (or Dalbo), overseers, were ordered repaired within four months or they should be severly fined." A deed was granted on 1 Dec. 1701 from Andrew Robeson, Exr. of Samuel to William Dalbo. Book Basse, pg. 31. Source - Index of Land Documents in the psssession of The Gloucester County Historical Society (Recorded Colonial Deeds in State Archives).

Carin Friend was a sister of Johannes (John) Friend who was the father of Nicholas Friend and grandfather of John Friend who settled Friendsville, Maryland. Carin and four of her children Johan, Anna Catharina, Charles and Lars died in April of 1721, presumably of the smallpox epidemic that struck the colony that year.

Woola Dalbo was one of the founders of "Old Swedes" Church at Raccoon Creek, present day Swedesboro, Gloucester County, New Jersey across the Delaware River from Upland (Chester), Pennsylvania where his father-in-law Nils settled after arriving from Sweden in about 1648.

Gloucester County, 1st month 1689/90 Wolle Dalbo was appointed Constable in place of Phillip Paull

1695 - Wolla Dalbo served on a Grand Jury.

A 1703 Deed conveyed the property from John Hugg, Junior to the Church Wardens Woola Dalbo, William Cobb, Woola Peterson and Frederick Hopman. The deed was executed at Raccoon Creek, Gloucester County, province of New Jersey. The Church, originally a Swedish Lutheran Church, now "Trinity Episcopal Church" has undergone extensive repair under the New Jersey Historic Trust Grant and was formally rededicated on October 29, 1995.

Woola Dalbo died in 1712 at Raccoon Creek, Gloucester Co., New Jersey on his plantation known as "Fishing Place".

Stratton Hall, built in 1794, a handsome brick mansion in Swedesboro, New Jersey was built on land that had once belonged to Woola Dalbo and Gabriel Friend. The property was called "Fishing Place" and was located on the old "Kings Highway" just north of town.
