ANDREW COLEMAN6 FRIEND (JOSEPH5, JOHN LEWIS4, NILS (NICHOLAS)3, JOHANNES (JOHN)2, NILS LARSSON1) was born Abt. 1797 in Friendsville, Allegany County, Maryland, and died December 08, 1876 in Maryland. He married SARAH NANCY HARDIN. She was born June 28, 1798 in Delaware, and died September 03, 1882.

Notes for ANDREW COLEMAN FRIEND:
Andrew Coleman Friend came back to the Yough Valley from Ohio in the iron making period. Andrew and his wife were, at the time, parents of four sons and a daughter: Joshua, Jonathan, Joab, Andrew Coleman, Jr. and Mary. Andrew was, according to his nephew Winfield Scott Friend, "A moral man, kind-hearted, but look out, though, if you got him started. He could take a barrel of whiskey, pick it up, and drink out of the bunghole. He could pick up a boy with one hand and without bending an elbow transfer him around to the other hand and set him down." Andrew was a stone mason, farmer, and tobacco raiser.
