Find Family
I am looking for information about this family line on my maternal side. I have some information that this family line is descended from a Robert Watson from Scotland or Ireland. His son fought in the French and Indian War, and according to papers that were found (and lost) was Honorably Discharged after the Revolutionary War (the papers were even signed by George Washington). The family, starting with this second John Watson, resided in Clark Co, IN in or around Oregan Twp.The sons of John and Mary (Campbell) Watson were called "The Fighting Watsons", because all six of them fought in the Civil War. Three of them died there. I have no information about their military records and would like to know what regiments they served in.
David W. Watson was a County Commissioner in Clark County.
Any more information that I can get would be very appreciated.
